When you burst onto the scene with 537 yards and 4TDs in just 4 games with the Kansas City Chiefs, its impossible to look past the impact he’s had. Keep in mind his career best for a season was 1,050 yards and 9 TDs as a rookie. For a season!
He may cool off but at 134.3 yards per game he is on pace to break Eric Dickerson’s all time rushing record of 2,105 yards set back in 1984. The pace he is on would have him finish with 2,283 yards in 17 games. They have the short sighted Seattle Seahawks to thank.
Do you realize the Seahawks had the 10th ranked rushing attack in ’25, have fallen to 17th this season. They just placed this year’s 1st round draft pick Jardarian Price on Injured Reserve and fell to NFC West leading San Francisco 32-29 primarily when RB George Holani’s 2 fumbles.

One of Holani’s fumbles happened in their own endzone for a game deciding touchdown. Brilliant move letting Super Bowl MVP Walker go. Just brilliant… sigh
The Chancellor tried to tell them how bad letting him go was and Seahawk fans didn’t agree…
Where the World Champion Seahawks are 3-2, Walker has the Chiefs at a surprising 4-0 and leading the AFC West. He’s provided power and breakaway speed now he’s been made the bellcow. Just in time to keep pressure off 3 time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. With a Hall of Fame QB in tow, defenses can’t sell out to stop the run.
Right now teams are caught in a vice and I don’t see where this is going lighten up. Offensive Coordinator Eric Bienemy is back and creative fun plays are back in Chief’s Kingdom. The beneficiary is the resurrection of Travis Kelce and Mahomes’ lightened load.
Freed from the splitting carries situation in Seattle Walker III is the front runner for MVP by a wide margin.
